How to Unlock A$AP Rocky in Fortnite: Gold Skin and Item Shop

There are two official ways to unlock A$AP Rocky in Fortnite right now: loot Treasure Chests in Battle Royale for a small chance at the free Solid Gold A$AP Rocky outfit (reported as available November 1-7, 2026), or buy his regular outfit from the Item Shop, which is reported to arrive on November 5, 2026 at 7 PM ET. Beating A$AP Rocky as a boss on the new island does not unlock the skin, even though that is where a lot of players are looking.

Where A$AP Rocky fits into Treasure Hunters

Method 1: Solid Gold A$AP Rocky from Treasure Chests (free)

According to Game Rant’s guide, the Solid Gold version of Rocky can drop from Treasure Chests in Battle Royale during Treasure Hunters, from November 1 to November 7, 2026. Chests on Crossbones Isle don’t only hold weapons and Sprites this season; some can also roll Gizmos and cosmetic rewards that go straight to your Locker.

How to farm for it

1. Queue into a Battle Royale match while Treasure Hunters is live (other modes are not reported to count).
2. Land somewhere with several chests and open as many Treasure Chests as you can each match.
3. If a cosmetic reward rolls, it is added to your Locker. Check your Locker after the match to confirm.
4. Repeat. Plan on many matches, because the odds are very low.

What to know before you grind

• The odds are tiny. Every source describes the drop chance as very small, and Epic has not published an exact rate. You may roll a different cosmetic instead.
• Squads may help. Reports say that when one squad member gets the Solid Gold Rocky, the whole team receives it. Sources word this mechanic slightly differently, so treat it as likely rather than guaranteed, but playing in a full squad looks like the most efficient approach.
• It’s a weekly reward. Rocky is listed among the Week 1 chest prizes in The Click’s chest reward breakdown, with a new rotation reported from November 7. Once that rotation flips, the Gold skin is expected to leave the pool.
• The reward list isn’t an official drop table. Epic confirmed that chests can contain cosmetics, but the item-by-item list comes from community and datamined reports. Details could still change.

Method 2: Buy A$AP Rocky in the Item Shop

Plenty of players assume beating Rocky unlocks him. It doesn’t. The boss fight and the Item Shop release are separate.

According to The Click’s boss guide, Rocky is at The $.$. Rocky, a battleship POI on the east side of the map. Beating him gives in-match loot:

• Shock Rocket, his weapon, which GameSpot describes as firing extra rockets at the ground as you launch away.
• A high chance of the Lil’ Flacko Sprite, according to The Click, though not in bot lobbies.

These items only last for that match. The battleship is still worth a visit for loot, and it has its own deck to search for chests, but it won’t change your Locker.

Tips for the boss fight

1. Drop with your squad, since bosses are easier with more firepower.
2. Clear other players first if the POI is contested. A hot drop plus a boss is a quick way to go back to the lobby.
3. Grab the Shock Rocket after the fight for mobility; it doubles as an escape tool.
4. Open every chest on the ship while you’re there. That way you’re also rolling for the Solid Gold skin.

Rumors to ignore

• Early-access tournament: Some creator videos say a tournament gives top players Rocky early. We couldn’t confirm this from Epic or a reputable outlet. If one is real, it will appear in Fortnite’s in-game Compete tab.
• “Free skin” codes and generators: Creator codes only support a creator when you buy something; they don’t unlock skins. Any site promising a free Rocky skin in exchange for your Epic login is a scam. Epic never needs your password to give you a cosmetic.
