AMPANIC: Release Date, Price, Gameplay and Co-op Explained
What AMPANIC is, when it launches on Steam, what it costs, how its aim-driven shop management and online co-op/versus modes work, and what PC you need.
AMPANIC is a small indie shop management game from Japanese solo developer YuLu in which you do everything (gathering materials, crafting goods and serving customers) by aiming with your mouse. It launches on Steam around October 15-16, 2026, reportedly costs 480 yen in Japan, and supports online co-op and competitive play.
That combination of “aim trainer meets cooking-rush game” is why so many people are looking it up this week. Below is what is confirmed so far, what is still unclear, and what you need to play it well.
What is AMPANIC?
According to its Steam store page, AMPANIC mixes aim-based action with running a shop. Instead of clicking menus or pressing interaction keys, every task in the shop is done with your crosshair.
The core loop, as described by Steam and by AUTOMATON’s announcement article, works like this:
- Pull passersby into your shop as customers.
- Gather raw materials by flick-aiming at things like trees.
- Process and craft those materials into the items customers order.
- Serve each customer before they lose patience.
The catch is harsh: if a customer waits too long and walks out, the run is over. AUTOMATON notes that later stages bring more complex recipes and more difficult customers, so the pressure ramps up as you go.
The Steam listing tags it as an action and indie game with pixel graphics, roguelike and survival elements, and it explicitly pitches the game as a way to build both flick aim (snapping quickly to a target) and tracking aim (staying on a moving target).
Release date, price and platforms
Here is the key information as of October 2026. Details such as price and launch timing can change, so treat the Steam page as the final word.
| Detail | What the sources say |
|---|---|
| Developer / publisher | YuLu (self-published) |
| Platform | Steam, Windows PC |
| Release date | Oct 15, 2026 on Steam; Oct 16, 2026 per AUTOMATON, 4Gamer and IsThereAnyDeal |
| Price | 480 yen incl. tax (Japanese coverage); other regions not confirmed |
| Multiplayer | Online co-op and online competitive |
| Difficulty | Three levels, from beginner to experienced players |
| Languages | Interface in 14 languages, including English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese |
Why two release dates?
The Steam page shows October 15, 2026, while 4Gamer and AUTOMATON, both Japanese outlets, report October 16, as does IsThereAnyDeal. The most likely explanation is a time-zone difference between Japan and the US-based Steam display, but neither source spells this out. If you want to play at the earliest moment, add it to your Steam wishlist so you get a notification when it unlocks.
Price outside Japan
The 480 yen figure comes from Japanese press coverage. We did not find a confirmed USD or EUR price in reliable sources, so check the store page for your regional price rather than converting the yen figure yourself, since Steam regional pricing rarely matches a straight currency conversion.
Game modes: solo, co-op and versus
Solo
Solo play is the core shop-running experience with three difficulty settings. The Steam listing frames these as covering everyone from newcomers to aim games through to experienced FPS players.
Online co-op
In co-op you share the work of running a shop with a friend. The Steam description makes a point of saying players can cooperate or interfere with each other, so expect some friendly sabotage to be possible.
Online versus
The competitive mode is the most interesting twist. Every time you deal with one of your customers, a new customer is sent to your rival’s screen. The aim is to keep your own shop running until your opponent’s collapses under the rush. Faster, more accurate aim directly translates into more pressure on the other player.
Both multiplayer modes are online. Local split-screen or same-PC multiplayer was not mentioned in any source we reviewed.
Who is YuLu?
YuLu is a Japanese solo developer who has built a small catalogue of games around mouse aim:
- Aim Climb (2022): a climbing game where you help a cat girl escape a cave by clicking targets to launch her upward; miss, and you fall. AUTOMATON covered it at launch, and it also offered three aim-themed difficulty levels.
- AMNYAM: a multiplayer-capable aim climbing game that grew out of work on an Aim Climb sequel.
IGDB lists AMPANIC as a 2026 title. If you enjoyed either of YuLu’s previous games, AMPANIC uses the same aim-first design philosophy in a very different genre.
PC requirements: what to expect
AMPANIC is a lightweight pixel-art game, and the Steam listing’s minimum storage requirement is around 300 MB. However, some of the system requirement entries on the store page look like placeholders rather than final values (for example, memory listed in megabytes and playful entries in the recommended specs field). Until the developer updates them, assume that almost any modern Windows PC can run it, but do not rely on the listed figures as precise.
The listing names Windows 11 as the minimum operating system. If you are on Windows 10, it may well still run, but that has not been confirmed.
Getting the most out of an aim-based management game
Because every action depends on your crosshair, your hardware setup matters more here than in a typical shop sim. None of the following is specific to AMPANIC’s settings, which have not been documented in detail yet, but it applies to any aim-heavy game:
- Use a proper mouse, not a trackpad. Flick and tracking aim are very hard on a laptop touchpad.
- Give yourself enough desk and pad space. Flicks between materials, crafting stations and customers need room to move.
- Turn off Windows “Enhance pointer precision” if you want consistent, predictable mouse movement, as it adds acceleration.
- Start on the easiest difficulty. With customers ending your run when they leave, learning the recipes before speeding up saves frustration.
- Play on a stable connection for co-op and versus. Both multiplayer modes are online-only according to the store listing.
You do not need high-end hardware: a comfortable mouse and a responsive monitor will matter far more than a powerful GPU for a pixel-art game of this size.
Should you pick it up?
At a reported 480 yen in Japan, AMPANIC is positioned as a low-cost, pick-up-and-play title. It looks like a good fit if you:
- enjoy hectic “serve the orders” games such as kitchen and shop rush titles,
- want a more playful way to practise flick and tracking aim than a dedicated aim trainer,
- have a friend to play co-op or head-to-head versus with.
It may be less appealing if you want a deep, slow-paced management sim, since the design leans on reflexes and one lost customer ends the run.
As the game is only just launching, there are no established player reviews yet. Check the Steam page’s user reviews over the first week, and remember that pricing, system requirements and features may change with updates after October 2026.

Frequently asked questions
When does AMPANIC come out? +
The Steam store page lists October 15, 2026, while Japanese press (AUTOMATON and 4Gamer) and IsThereAnyDeal give October 16, 2026. The one-day gap most likely comes from time zones, but that has not been officially confirmed, so check the Steam page for the exact unlock time in your region.
How much does AMPANIC cost? +
Japanese coverage reports a price of 480 yen including tax. Prices in other currencies were not confirmed in the sources we checked, so look at the Steam store page for your regional price and any launch discount.
Does AMPANIC have multiplayer? +
Yes. The Steam listing advertises online co-op, where players can help or get in each other's way, and a competitive mode where serving a customer sends a new one to your rival's screen. The goal in versus is to keep your shop running until your opponent's collapses.
Is AMPANIC an aim trainer? +
Not strictly. It is a shop management game in which every action is done by aiming, using both flick and tracking motions, so it exercises the same skills as an aim trainer. It comes from YuLu, the developer behind the aim-based climbing games Aim Climb and AMNYAM.
Can I play AMPANIC on console or Mac? +
As of October 2026, the only confirmed release is on Steam for Windows PC. No console or macOS version had been announced in the sources we reviewed.
